This is a solemn Sunday school in the early days of the beginning of Sunday schools in Sri Lanka and now belongs to the Dehiwala Regional Education Security Force. Currently, nearly 250 children are receiving Dhamma education and 18 teachers are working in the faculty.

Although he led an extremely busy life as the dean of the university and traveling to various parts of Sri Lanka to preach, his eager participation in the activities of the Sunday school is the best illustration to understand the care he had for the Sunday school. After the sudden demise of Dr. Fonseka and Professor, Pandita Kotagama Vachissara Thero, there were various difficulties in the progress of the Dhamma School, but with the support of Mrs. Indrani Fonseka, Rev. Pamankada Buddhaseeha Nayaka Thero worked for the further development of the Dhamma School. After him, two or three monks who were residents of Pamankada Temple worked for the development of the Sunday school and Dr. W. Ariyadasa Fonseka, Francis Chandrasena, Mano Ranjan Wijebahu, J. it. Chandrasena, J. it. Chandrasiri, Ass. The contribution of gentlemen like Srinath Mendis, Gamini Jayawardena, Rohini Wasantha Fonseka for the continuation of the Sunday School is an indelible mark in the history of the Sunday School.

After his passing away, the present Pamankada Sri Maha Viharadhipati Aggamahapandita, Dr. Walpola Piyananda Nayaka Theo, is the headmaster, Royal pandit, Master Walpola Siri Piyarathana Thero. The Sunday school, which had been lagging behind for the past decade and a half, is being given new light by young energy and is being given leadership to turn it into a bright Sunday school in the area, and the great support given by the teaching staff in a very harmonious way has led to the development of the Sunday School.
